On 15 March 2020, artists of the orchestra will present a chamber music concert, which will feature works by French composers C. Debussy and C. Saint-Saëns and works by a German violinist, composer, one of the first representatives of the romantic music – Ludwig Spohr. The programme includes rarely performed chamber works.

The concert’s centre of attraction is one of the oldest musical instruments – a harp, the age of which is more than four and a half thousand years. The harp has long been a symbol of the beautiful and romantic in art.

The harp, as a spectacular solo and accompanying instrument, was loved and widely used by Russian classical composers (N. Rimsky-Korsakov, P. Tchaikovsky, M. Glinka, S. Rachmaninoff, S. Prokofiev and others), as well as renowned European authors (G. Berlioz, R. Wagner, F. Liszt). For example, Richard Wagner used six harps in Das Rheingold, while usually only one or two harps are used in the orchestra.
