“Confession of Love” Gala Concert

The “Confession of Love” gala concert, dedicated to the International Women’s Day, will take place in the Main Hall of the Astana Opera House.

Opera soloists, choir and orchestra of the Astana Opera will perform the most impressive, passionate, lyrical and soulful arias from the world opera classics, as well as Kazakh, Russian, Neapolitan songs and romances. The programme will also feature ballet dancers.

Escamillo’s couplets from G. Bizet’s opera Carmen, S. Gastaldon’s The Forbidden Music, J. Massenet’s Sevillana, duets of Birzhan and Sara from M. Tulebayev’s opera Birzhan – Sara and duets of Lakmé and Malika from L. Delibes’ opera Lakmé, as well as Sou-Chong’s aria from F. Lehár’s operetta The Land of Smiles and S. Smirnov’s Lullaby, Yestai’s Kusni Korlan and M. Yerzhanov’s Kuanamyn will serve as a confession of love for the lovely female audience.

The playful duet of Papageno and Papagena from Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute, the famous song of the Duke from G. Verdi’s opera Rigoletto, a medley on themes from songs about spring and such Neapolitan songs as Tarantella, Maritana, Tell me, girls, The proud beauty of posture, A Soldier in love and others will lift the audience’s spirits.

The ballet dancers’ art will also grace the evening programme. They will perform the brisk Indian Dance from the ballet La Bayadère and the ironic Paradise Lost by J. Williams etc.

The leading opera soloists and ballet dancers of the Astana Opera House will perform on stage.

Conductors – Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Aidar Abzhakhanov, Arman Urazgaliyev.
