Versatile Rossini

During the first days of the New Year holidays, the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra under the baton of its principal conductor, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Alan Buribayev, presents a concert filled with music brimming with joy and delight – the music of the renowned Italian opera composer, Gioachino Rossini.

Rossini was more than just a creator; he was a genuine master of versatility. He crafted comedic operas such as Cinderella, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Il turco in Italia and L'italiana in Algeri. Yet, he also ventured into the realm of heroic-patriotic works with William Tell and delved into the mournful Stabat Mater portraying the suffering of the Virgin Mary at the Cross.

The orchestra and soloists will perform arias, duets, and scenes from the operas of the great maestro – the “enchanting Rossini”, as Pushkin called him.
