In 2020, the world music community celebrates the 180th anniversary of the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. A symphony concert, which will feature the works of two geniuses – Tchaikovsky and Saint-Saëns, is a tribute to the memory of the great artist.

In the first part of the concert you will hear Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No.3, composed especially for the Spanish violin virtuoso and composer Pablo de Sarasate. The concert is notable for the technically complex part of the soloist, even though the virtuoso passages briefly change to pastoral calm. Concerto No.3 is the most popular one written by Saint-Saëns.

The Sérénade mélancolique in B-flat minor for Violin and Orchestra by P.Tchaikovsky will also be performed.

Soloist of the concert – Bagdat ABILKHANOV, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan.

The second part of the concert will include Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony – a composition, in which the hero confronts fate and, having entered into this struggle, he comes out winning. The pathetics of this composition still holds up, which attracts both regular listeners and a new audience to the concert hall.
