A profound connoisseur of Giacomo Puccini’s music, renowned Italian conductor Giuseppe Acquaviva presents a Gala Opera dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great Italian composer’s passing.

Leading soloists from the opera company will be joined on stage by Italian opera singers Marina Medici, Raffaele Abete, Kazakh soprano Maria Mudryak, as well as the choir and symphony orchestra of the Astana Opera House.

The concert programme will feature arias, duets and scenes from rarely performed masterpieces by Puccini, offering both artists and the audience a fresh perspective on the composer’s work.

In the theatre’s repertoire, Puccini’s legacy includes La Bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly and Turandot. However, Puccini also composed other, equally notable works, such as his famous triptych of one-act operas: Il Tabarro, Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, as well as Le Villi, Edgar, Manon Lescaut and La Fanciulla del West.

All of Puccini’s works are considered pinnacles of Italian opera, admired for their rich melodies, orchestral colour and acoustic effects, as well as Puccini’s unique democratic and expressive musical language. This concert, “Tribute to Giacomo Puccini,” invites attendees to experience these remarkable qualities firsthand.
