The Astana Opera House presents a chamber music concert “The Twelve Seasons” with the participation of the first violin of the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Bagdat Abilkhanov (violin), accompanied by the Theatre’s Chamber Orchestra.

The guest of the concert is Honoured Artist of Russia Alexey Lundin (violin).

The concert programme features cycles dedicated to the seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, Astor Piazzolla and Efrem Podgaits.

Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, composed in 1723, became one of the finest examples of Baroque music and an indisputable treasure of world culture. The four concertos – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter – are still the most frequently performed of the great Venetian’s 550 works.

The name of Astor Piazzolla is well known to fans of the passionate Argentine tango. It was he who managed to turn “folk” tango into a high art and modern classic, fully preserving its unique exciting energy. The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires is a set of four tango compositions, written by Astor Piazzolla at different times and under different circumstances, but performed together.

For the first time in Kazakhstan a cycle of Russian composer Efrem Podgaits The Four Seasons in Moscow, based on melodies from films and songs by Dunayevsky, Solovyov-Sedoi and Kolmanovsky, will be performed.

Alexey LUNDIN (violin, Moscow) is a well-known concert musician, first violin and soloist of the State Chamber Orchestra “Moscow Virtuosi”.  During his years in the orchestra Alexey Lundin has performed in the best concert halls of the world, as well as collaborated with outstanding musicians of our time.

The musician’s repertoire includes violin concertos by Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi, and Schnittke, which he has performed with the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra under the baton of Spivakov, Sondeckis, Simkin, Frantz, and Currentzis.

Alexey Lundin has an unusually high reputation not only as a brilliant violinist, effectively developing a solo career, but also as a musician of wide knowledge and immeasurable charm, sincerely believing that people cannot get enough of classical music.
