The “Eight Seasons” concert traditionally opens the concert season at the Kulyash Baiseitova Chamber Hall and is dedicated to International Music Day, as well as to all connoisseurs of classical music.
The Four Seasons, composed by Vivaldi in 1723, is one of the finest examples of Baroque music and an undeniable part of the world culture. Four concerts titled “Spring”, “Summer”, “Autumn” and “Winter” remain the most performed of the great Venetian’s 550 other works.
Astor Piazzolla's name is well known to sophisticated public and devotees of the passionate Argentine tango. It was he who managed to turn the ‘popular' tango into the high art, the modern classic, having fully preserved its unique and exciting energy. The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by Piazzolla is the new sound of tango, which incorporates the best elements of jazz and classical music.
Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and Astor Piazzolla's works are among the most striking phenomena of musical culture of that time. At first glance, it is challenging and unexpected to compare the works of these composers, who were born on different continents, belonged to different musical styles and were separated in time by more than two centuries of history.
