“About Music and its Creators” Series

Evening Serenade

(Schubertiana)

On 21 June 2017, the chamber and instrumental music concert “Evening Serenade” from “About Music and its Creators” series, dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the birth of the Austrian composer F. Schubert will take place.

The programme will feature chamber and instrumental music pieces, as well as vocal works by the great Romantic-era composer.

The list of Schubert’s works includes operas, music for dramatic plays, symphonies, sacred music and chamber works. In addition, his chamber vocal music takes special place in his creative work. Schubert has enriched the genre of a song and created the first great examples of vocal cycles. Die schöne Müllerin (The Beautiful Miller) and Winterreise (Winter Journey) on W.Müller’s poems became symbolic both for the composer’s creative work and for the entire musical romanticism. Schubert composed more than 600 songs.

Opera soloists and musicians-instrumentalists will perform the composer’s chamber and vocal works during the concert.
