The play«Ot qyz» is based on a mythological plot in which Mergen, a gunslinger, deciding to prove his valour, shoots at the Sun, but by his action plunges the world and all living things into darkness and cold. The Land of Tall Grasses suffers as a result of his recklessness, and the young princess Ot qyz disappears, and a long winter ensues. Having realised what he has done, Mergen seeks to right his wrong and bring light and warmth back into the world.

The performance promises to attract the attention not only of children, but also of adults, because there is something interesting and fascinating for every spectator: a fairy tale narrative that takes you into the wonderful world of Turkic mythology, amazingly beautiful scenery and costumes, unique visual design, and magical music. The fairy tale «Ot qyz» will undoubtedly become one of the brightest pages in the history of Astana Ballet Theatre!
