'O Paese d' 'o sole

Soloist – Medet Chotabayev

Remarkable tenor – the leading soloist of the Astana Opera House, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Medet CHOTABAYEV will present a concert programme featuring Neapolitan songs. The title “'O Paese d' 'o sole” (“The Land of the Sun”) promises to take listeners to the south of Italy, where everything seems to be singing – the sun, the sea, the birds and the air itself! And this atmosphere is conveyed by the voice of an outstanding singer.

The programme includes Neapolitan songs by G. Rossini, E. di Capua, R. Falvo, E. de Curtis, C. Bixio, F. P. Tosti, G. Lama, E. Cannio and others.

Medet Chotabayev studied vocal in Kazakhstan and Italy. He is the winner of international competitions, including a brilliant victory at one of the most prestigious vocal competitions – the 23rd Glinka International Competition (Moscow, 2009), where he received the first prize and the “Best Tenor” special prize.

The theatrical characters created by Medet Chotabayev are distinguished by subtle lyricism, the sincerity of feelings, special warmth and professional presentation of the vocal part. His repertoire includes such parts as Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti), Rodolfo (La bohème by Puccini), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly by Puccini), Lensky (Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky), Alfredo (La traviata by Verdi), Tulegen (Kyz Zhibek by Brusilovsky) and others.

Medet Chotabaev is a prizewinner of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy (2018), winner of the National Project “100 New Persons of Kazakhstan” (2018) and Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy (2018).
