New Year with Vivaldi and Piazzolla

The Astana Opera House is set to host a chamber music concert “New Year with Vivaldi and Piazzolla” on the eve of the New Year. The event will feature the participation of Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Bagdat ABILKHANOV, the first violin of the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra, along with the Chamber Orchestra of the theatre. Conductor – Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Aidar ABZHAKHANOV.

The selection of music from the Italian Baroque genius, Antonio Vivaldi, by the musicians was intentional. Vivaldi was born and resided in Venice, regarded as the most exquisite city in Europe. In the late 17th century, neither Vienna nor Paris could rival Venice – it stood as the acknowledged capital of enjoyment and entertainment, a city dedicated to celebration.

Twice annually, individuals from across Europe flocked to the Venice Carnival. The festivities knew no bounds, featuring an abundance of balls and masquerades. Opera theatres continuously presented premieres, and the city’s existence unfolded to the harmonious backdrop of music. The streets and squares echoed with people singing, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere.

The concert programme, featuring the beloved The Four Seasons by Vivaldi and The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by Piazzolla, promises to immerse the audience in a joyful New Year atmosphere.

Happy New Year!
