Do you like Brahms?

“Do you like Brahms?”

O Brahms! Like clinking of glasses and crystals,

Fascinating sounds of the waterfall

Bring me to the delightful distance,

And fall to pieces in a fast cascade.

“Do you like Brahms?” is the title of the novel by Françoise Sagan, which was made into a melodrama in 1961 starring famous French and American artists. The initial chords of Brahms’s Symphony No.3 served as the musical leitmotif of the film.

The concert will feature not the symphonic, but the chamber and instrumental music by the German composer of the Romantic period Johannes Brahms. Musicians who feel the subtle nature of the chamber ensemble and wonderfully interpret German classical music will perform the music pieces:

Pavel Romanenko, winner of international competitions (viola)

Kurvanzhan Akhatov, winner of international competitions (cello)

Ulan Kulmametov (piano)
