Wind Music Concert

In the Same Breath

An interesting programme of works by contemporary Kazakhstani authors (S. Kibirova, A. Zhaiym, A. Abdinurov, K. Sadvakassov) and representatives of the French school (H. Pierné, F. Poulenc) will be performed by the wind instruments musicians, who actively promote chamber music.

A large number of works have been written for wind instruments, and they are particularly well represented in the works of the French composer Francis Poulenc.

His music, deeply felt, emotionally uplifting, exceptionally melodic and colourful, reflects the best features of French national culture. Poulenc boldly used various combinations of instruments in his ensembles (Rapsodie Nègre for soloists, piano, string quartet, flute and clarinet, Sonata for Two Clarinets and song cycle Le Bestiaire to Apollinaire’s poems for voice, flute, clarinet, bassoon and string quartet, Sonata for French Horn, Trumpet and Trombone). Artists of the Astana Opera Orchestra offer one of the best works of Poulenc for the ensemble of wind instruments, Sextet for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon and Piano, created in 1930.
