Concert

Gabi Hartmann & musiciens

as part of the Printemps de la Francophonie 2024 Festival

with the support of the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan

THE CONCERT IS HELD IN KAZAKH AND FRENCH LANGUAGES

Songwriter, composer and guitarist Gabi Hartmann, a Parisian, rose to the top of the jazz charts after the release of her debut album in 2023.

The singer’s performance style is a mix of chanson, jazz and folk. She sings in French, English, Portuguese and Arabic, accompanied by musicians she meets on her travels.

Gabi Hartmann’s performance will take place as part of the Printemps de la Francophonie 2024 Festival, which has been held jointly with the embassies of Armenia, Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Romania, Switzerland and Tunisia for 14 years. This year, the festival will take place from 1 to 21 April in cities across Kazakhstan: Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Shymkent and Ust-Kamenogorsk.

We are confident that Gabi Hartmann’s talent and Parisian charm will captivate the audience.

Gabi Hartmann

Until she was fourteen, she studied classical piano and then exchanged the keyboard for her brother’s guitar so that she could write songs. Her interest in jazz arose after discovering Amy Winehouse and her covers of Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole.

Gabi continued her musical education by attending classes at the Schola Cantorum and the Conservatoire, then became acquainted with Brazilian music during a two-year stay in Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, she studied ethnomusicology in London before returning to Paris, where she pursued projects in ten different genres in three languages.

After travelling to Brazil, South Africa, and England, Gabi met producer Jesse Harris in New York in 2018 and recorded her first solo album with him. Since then, they have been creating and recording music, working in Paris and New York. While preparing her album, Gabi opened concerts for Jamie Cullum and Melody Gardot and sang at the famous Parisian jazz club Duc des Lombards. Her name sparked great interest, and her magnificent voice – warm, with a touch of casual elegance and charm –rightfully gained immense popularity.
