The legendary Kazakh opera singer, actress, and teacher Hero of Socialist Labour, People’s Artist of the USSR, and laureate of the Kazakh SSR and USSR State Prizes, Bibigul Tulegenova celebrates her anniversary on the stage of the country’s main theatre.

The owner of a magnificent lyric-coloratura soprano, known as the “Kazakh Nightingale” and a beloved figure of the people, Bibigul Tulegenova will take the stage in a concert organised in her honour. The singer remains active in her creative process, sharing her vast experience with both senior colleagues and young artists, gladly offering advice, mentorship, and revealing the secrets of her craft.

Bibigul Akhmetovna is the visionary behind the International Vocal Competition that bears her name, which has been gathering the best vocal talents from different countries for twelve years. The goal of this artistic competition is to discover and support young talents and to promote Kazakh musical art.

The anniversary concert will feature the guest of honour herself, as well as renowned Kazakhstani opera singers she has invited, including her students, who continue her legacy, and laureates of the Bibigul Tulegenova Competition, among others.

The programme includes arias from operas by Kazakhstani and international composers, folk songs, romances, and instrumental works.
