The Semipalatinsk Philharmonic was founded in 1945, and then it was a regional state philharmonic. In the post-war years, the Semipalatinsk Philharmonic helped and inspired the residents of the region, and the Amre Kashaubayev Philharmonic is no less important today. The Philharmonic acquired the name of the notorious singer Amre Kashaubayev in 1969. And with the acquisition of the sovereignty of the state, the Philharmonic received a second wind, which undoubtedly reflected in the work of artists and musicians.
The Philharmonic named after Amre Kashaubayev includes such ensembles as the folklore ensemble "An ozegi", the pop ensemble "Semey Sazy", the orchestra of Kazakh national instruments "Bibigul", the ensemble "Kerbez", children's organizations and others. For almost 80 years of the Philharmonic's existence, legendary musicians have served in it, such as People's Artist Madeniyet Yeshekeyev, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Sybanov, as well as Dauyl Khairullin, Anuarbek Imangozhin, cultural figures Keldenbay Olmesekov, Rosa Baydalina, Gabit Kopbayev, Rymgali Mamyrkhanov, Tursyngazy Rakhimov and many others. At various times, the Philharmonic was led by Talip Valitov, Maulen Masalimov, Marhaba Keremkulova, Sagi Mekishev, Murat Alin, Baltabek Ersalimov, Aimukhambet Beysembekov, Orazgali Seitkazy and Adai Azamatov.
