History of the stadium

The first match took place in 1967 when the stadium was still under construction. It took place in the field: there was no lighting, seats were not finished. But there were so many people willing to watch the game between Kairat (Almaty) and Torpedo (Moscow) that some spectators had to climb the unfinished roof of the stadium.

The architects of the "Gorselproekt" Institute designed the future sports arena and the construction of the stadium in Shymkent can be called folk because almost all enterprises of the city took part in it. It became not only a concentration of sports but also cultural and social life. In the Soviet era, there were held exhibitions of the national economy, celebrated holidays.

Today, the Shymkent altar of football includes:
