The tale is based on Kazakh legends and fairy tales about the magic bird Samruk. The characters of this version of the story are Samruk, Khan, Asan, Aisulu, Dragon, Witch, zhigits and girls. The performance shows how well-known folk symbols were created and how they are connected with the history of Kazakhstan. A deep meaning is embedded in the libretto – it is about love for the Motherland, its people, its traditions and wisdom. And what about Samruk and its image in the new version? The new interpretation of Samruk reflects the feminine principle, touching, refined, but also majestic, which is combined in the legends about this image.
