An excellent evening of flute music will be presented to classical music lovers by orchestra musician Alexey Kosyrev and the Astana Opera Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Abzal Mukhitdin.
The concert programme features music by the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The flute is very closely associated with the Mozart family, who represent three generations of composers – three eras in the art of music (late baroque, classicism, early romanticism), in each of which they left their mark, giving us beautiful works, including for the flute!
Johann Georg Leopold Mozart (1719-1787) enriched the late Baroque flautist repertoire. His brilliant son Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) brilliantly introduced the flute to the Classical period, writing his concertos for flute and orchestra as well as the opera The Magic Flute, which elevated this magic instrument. And his younger son Franz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart was no stranger to the instrument, writing a large number of works for the flute in the Romantic period.
