Bibigul TULEGENOVA

(dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outstanding singer)

 

The legendary Kazakhstan opera singer, actress and teacher – Hero of Socialist Labour, People's Artist of the USSR, USSR State Prize laureate Bibigul Tulegenova celebrates her 90th anniversary on the stage of the country's main theatre.

The magnificent lyric coloratura soprano, “Kazakh nightingale”, the people’s favourite will perform at the benefit concert organized in her honour.

The wonderful singer is still active in the creative process: her vast experience is in demand by colleagues of the older generation and young artists, with whom she gladly shares the secrets of mastery, and to whom she gives advice and guidance.

Bibigul Tulegenova is the inspirer of the creation of the International vocal competition named after her, which has celebrated its tenth anniversary this year. The purpose of this creative competition is the discovery and support of young talents, and the promotion of Kazakh musical art.

The guest of honour herself will participate in the programme of the Anniversary concert, as well as invited by her famous Kazakh opera singers, students and successors of her tradition, laureates of the competition named after Bibigul Tulegenova, etc.

The programme will include arias from Kazakh and Western operas, traditional songs, orchestral works and dance performances.
