The turn of the 19th and 20th centuries was a time of flourishing French chamber vocal lyricism. Leading composers of the era showed sincere interest in vocal music and felt the need to create chamber, emotionally resonant compositions. In the works of composers spanning two centuries, vocal miniatures acquired an exquisite artistic appearance. Many of these compositions became true masterpieces, adorning the concert programmes of many performers.
The concert will feature works by Gabriel Fauré, Erik Satie, Reynaldo Hahn, Claude Debussy, Déodat de Séverac, Georges Auric, Henri Dutilleux, Jacques Leguerney, Francis Poulenc and others.
