A solo concert on the stage of the Astana Opera House marks the 30th anniversary of the artistic career of the Honored Artist of Kazakhstan and laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maira MUKHAMEDKYZY.

Maira Mukhamedkyzy is the pride of Kazakhstan’s national opera scene and a laureate of many international competitions, including the prestigious Moscow International Tchaikovsky Competition.

Her name has graced the posters of the world’s leading theatres, with solo performances held in Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Istanbul, Delhi, Seoul, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Budapest, and other cities and countries.

Maira has worked with opera legends such as Plácido Domingo and Roberto Alagna.

Her repertoire includes leading roles in both national and international opera classics: Azhar (Abai by A. Zhubanov and L. Khamidi), Zhibek (Kyz Zhibek by Ye. Brussilovsky), Violetta (La Traviata), Gilda (Rigoletto), and Elisabeth de Valois (Don Carlos) by G. Verdi, Musetta (La Bohème) and Liù (Turandot) by G. Puccini, among many others.

In 2021, Maira Mukhamedkyzy became the head of the Shymkent Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The concert programme will feature arias from operas, romances by national, Russian, and Western European composers, as well as Kazakh folk and Chinese songs.
