London. The 50s of the XIX century. The Russian writer and oppositionist Alexander Herzen, who is in forced exile, settled here. It was at this time that he, along with his closest friend Nikolai Ogarev, began publishing the dissident magazine Kolokol. But Dmitry Astrakhan's performance is not about that. The London Triangle is an incredible and little–known story of a strange relationship that developed between two bosom friends and their common lover Natalie Tuchkova. Being formally Ogarev's wife, Natalie gave birth to three children from Herzen. Tuchkova herself, who was much younger than both of her men, was a very extraordinary person, which, however, did not save her fate from a tragic denouement. A story of love poisoning everything around, a story of relationships from which it is impossible to get out without losses.

Alexander Uglov wrote the play based on real facts that he gleaned from the diaries and letters of participants in the events. Interestingly, in the published memoirs of Tuchkova, the story of her dramatic relationship with Ogarev and Herzen is hushed up.
The performance features music by Frederic Chopin, Herzen's favorite composer and, in fact, his contemporary.
The play tells an amazing story about how two great figures of Russian culture loved the same woman. For one she was a wife, for another a mistress. It was no secret to anyone. The play "London Triangle" tells about strange friendship and strange love.
