The evening of Italian serenades is presented by the soloists and artists of the Astana Opera House.
They invite you to journey back to a distant time, when the heirs of troubadours and knights, in the stillness of the night, accompanied by a lute or guitar, sang love songs beneath the balconies and windows of fair ladies. The melodies are filled with emotions: sadness, sorrow, tenderness, passion—everything that makes serenades so captivating. It was in Italy that the first songs celebrating female beauty appeared.
The programme will feature Italian serenades, as well as arias and songs that have become variations of the serenade, extolling the virtues of a beloved, along with instrumental pieces that capture the essence of vocal serenades.
The concert is dedicated to the International Week of Italian Language and Culture, traditionally held in the autumn (16-22 October).
