Concert of “Lotus Bleu” Piano Duet
The “Lotus Bleu” piano duet comprised of pianists and Winners of International Competitions Alexandra Yegorova and Aya Bulatova will give the “Double Inspiration” concert in the Chamber Hall.
The genre of piano duet has a long history. For some time there were two types of piano duets on the concert stage – at one and two pianos. In our time, the second type has replaced the first one, and we do not meet the pianists at the concerts, who play four hands the same instrument, as it happened in the days of Liszt and Rubinstein. No wonder that a duet with the pianists playing separate instruments has become common in the concert practice: thanks to two pianists playing two instruments simultaneously, the rich opportunities of piano have expanded and attracted attention of many composers.
The young duet “Lotus Bleu” will perform works by the composers of the 19th and 20th centuries as well as the works by the young American composer, pianist, video producer and writer Greg Anderson.
On the programme:
- Max Reger. Six Pieces for Piano Four Hands, op.94
- Edvarg Grieg. Norwegian Dances, Op. 35, No.1
- Witold Lutoslawski. Variations on a Theme of Paganini
- Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasia
- Greg Anderson. Carmen Fantasy
