The ballet Don Quixote is one of the best choreographic works of Marius Petipa. Traveling around the cities of Spain had not only left an imprint on his life, but also mainly helped him to create a bright ballet.

Miguel de Cervantes, the creator of Don Quixote, wrote about Spanish dances: “It seemed <...> that Joy itself rushed and Fun itself jumped”. Marius Petipa, as if embodying the words of Cervantes, revealed this brightness on stage and created a magnificent festive performance, which became a classic of ballet art forever.
