Among all the variety of these fairy tale worlds, a special place is held by the story of how a beautiful girl learns to love a fearsome beast. This tale exists in various forms across many cultures around the world. In Russia, it is known as "The Scarlet Flower," written by the author Sergey Aksakov in 1857. The creators of the performance have used the classic plot of the fairy tale, adding lively humor that resonates with modern audiences. The colorful shadow puppets and backgrounds bring the shadow play closer to animation, yet created in real-time.
