5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

(Astana Opera Children’s Theatre Studio celebrates its fifth anniversary)

The Children’s Theatre Studio of the Astana Opera House, founded in 2013, celebrates its fifth anniversary. Young singers and dancers along with adult artists participate in concert programmes and performances, and even go on tour. The Studio trains children who have a great interest in art, as well as strong acting and musical abilities. The Studio’s youngest pupils are 7 years old and its first graduates are already studying in the universities of Kazakhstan and near and far abroad countries.

Audiences can see pupils of the Chorus Studio in Puccini’s operas La bohème and Tosca, as well as in Kyz Zhibek by Brusilovsky, Birzhan - Sara by Tulebayev, and Abai by Zhubanov and Khamidi. Pupils of the Ballet Studio performed on stage along with the artists of the legendary Milanese Teatro alla Scala in Don Quixote.

The anniversary concert programme will feature solo and group numbers of both the Chorus and Ballet Studios.

Altyngan Akhmetova heads the Chorus Studio, and Amina Aliyeva is the head of the Ballet Studio. Director of Children’s projects is Natalya Kagadiy.
