An evening of vocal music will be presented by the soloists of the Shymkent City Opera and Ballet Theatre Robert Zhetkerbayev (tenor) and Margarita Kin (soprano). Piano: Zamzagul Bekbaulova.

The musicians will perform Robert Schumann’s cycle A Poet’s Love, as well as songs and romances by other romantic composers.

Robert Zhetkerbayev (tenor) is a graduate of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory (class of Kabylash Abikeiuly). Since 2020, he has been a soloist of the Shymkent City Opera and Ballet Theatre. His repertoire features roles in the operas Domalak Ana by T. Zharmukhamedov (Badibek), Kamar-sulu by Ye. Rakhmadiyev (Tezekbay), and Kyz Zhibek by Ye. Brusilovsky (Sansyzbay), as well as in the musical Kok-Turik by R. Gaissin (Ashin) and the tenor part in Solemn Mass by G. Rossini.

In the new 16th theatre season he performed the vocal cycle A Poet’s Love by R. Schumann.

Margarita Kin (soprano) graduated from the Glinka Magnitogorsk Conservatory with a degree in Academic Singing. Winner of international competitions, including the 8th International Opera Festival “Rübezahl’s Musical Garden” (Karpacz, Poland, 2011), the Natalia Shpiller All-Russian Vocalists’ Competition “Masterpieces of Russian Music” (2015) and others.

Her repertoire features roles in La Traviata by G. Verdi (Violetta); Pagliacci by R. Leoncovallo (Nedda), Arshin Mal Alan by U. Hajibekov (Gulchehra), as well as romances and songs by national composers.

Since 2011, she has been a leading soloist of the Shymkent City Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Pianist Zamzagul Bekbaulova is a graduate of the A. Zhubanov Republican Specialised Secondary Music Boarding School for Gifted Children and the Kurmangazy State Conservatory in Almaty. She combines her work in the theatre as a senior accompanist with teaching piano at the Shymkent Music College. In 2020, she was awarded the medal Madeniyet Salasynyn Uzdіgі.
