Dead Souls

«Dead Souls» at the Aktobe Regional Drama Theatre named after T. Akhtanov is a play not about «dead souls», but about the living dead. Pavel Ivanovich Chichikov, not really wanting it himself, found himself in the Unknown Where, he came to buy dead souls where living souls not only never existed, but even could not be. There's life going on all around. And suddenly, out of nowhere, a Stranger decided to keep him company. Suddenly the sun went out. «In the world of the Great Pestilence, people are dying, and on their souls you can make a fortune, and there, you'll see, and a wife and children.» From the stranger there is a mermaid's coldness, she smiles with her fishy mouth, and lures, lures after her, further and further into the abyss, into the realm of the eternally living dead. Pavel Ivanovich would have stopped, but the dream was too good, and the Stranger was good, but cold.
