“The rich merchant had three beautiful daughters, and the youngest was his favourite. He started to prepare for the trip overseas. Thus, he called his daughters and asked: “What should I bring you as a gift?” The eldest asked for a golden crown made of semi-precious stones, the middle asked for a mirror made of oriental crystal, and the youngest asked for a scarlet flower, which would be the most beautiful in the world...”.

 

Several Russian folk tales formed the basis of The Magic Flower. This is the tale of Sadko as an epic hero, as well as the well-known fairy tale The Scarlet Flower. There are many songs and interesting plot twists, which make the tale play with new facets and colours.
