Emir Baigazin is known to fans of the author's cinema not only in native Kazakhstan and Russia but also far abroad. His films take part in international film festivals and are highly appreciated by film critics.
It wasn't immediately clear to Baigazin that he wanted to link the activity to the cinema. The young man thought about his career in this field only at the age of 20 when he joined the Aktobe theatre. The magic world attracted the young man, so he chose KazNAI named after Jurgenov to study for an actor. But having arrived in Almaty, at the last moment changes his decision and enters the faculty of film direction.
Emir Baigazin started shooting films already in his third year. One of the first videos "The Steppe", lasting two minutes, half consisting of erotic scenes was for him "pass" ticket to the Asian Film Academy. After that, his script was shot a short film "Virgins".
The full-length film was released in 2013. The "Harmony Lessons" were presented at the "Berlinale" and awarded the "Silver Bear".
The Emir's subsequent works also received good reviews from world critics. Now he continues to work, replenishing his "piggy bank" with feature films.

Baigazin is the first Kazakh director, whose film was selected for the main competition of the Berlin Film Festival.
It was among the directors who will receive a resident grant from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
The director was invited to become a member of the "European Film Academy".
