Dmitry Karpov

Dmitry Karpov made a great contribution to the development of sport in his country, for which he received many awards, such as the distinctive sign of labor. He can be considered a universal athlete who took part in mixed martial arts because he was successful in every direction.

Creative path

He started his professional career at the age of 15, showing himself at national competitions. Success came in 2003 when he won gold in the decathlon in Italy, beating his competitors by a wide margin. Also that day, Karpov set a record for Kazakhstan with more than eight thousand points.
The athlete preferred to participate in both indoor and outdoor championships, and he showed good results everywhere. However, he got more medals in the first form. In 2013 he was disqualified at the London Olympics because of a double false start.

Dmitry Karpov: family life

Parents were athletics coaches, so no wonder the kid decided to follow in their footsteps.

At the training, Dmitry met Irina Naumenko, with whom he was having an affair. Soon the couple got married and now is raising two children: son Svyatoslav and daughter Miloslava.
