National Ballet of Slovenia (Ljubljana)

The professional ballet troupe of the theater was formed in 1918. The National Theater of Opera and Ballet of Slovenia has an extensive repertoire of classical and contemporary works. Each season the troupe gives more than 150 performances both in motherland and abroad.

The theater will present two performances:

PASTORAL SYMPHONY

At the first time, the ballet of the Croatian choreographer Milko Sparemblak on the Beethoven’s work of the same name was staged for the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Slovenia in 1986. The performance was renewed in 2018 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the troupe. Milko Sparemblek belongs to a number of outstanding people of ballet art as a dancer, choreographer and director. His performances for many years were decorated with scenes of the Lisbon Ballet (Portugal), the Lyon Opera (France), the National Ballet of Croatia in Zagreb.

FIVE TANGO

The Dutch choreographer Hans Van Manen has staged a total of about 160 ballets and has long been a recognized master throughout the world. Not being able to resist the charm of Astor Piazzolla's music, he created a one-act ballet "Five Tango". Unlike other productions, for which the feelings are restrained, the "Five Tango" is dominated by passion. Otherwise, it would have been impossible, taking into account the musical basis of the performance, which is performed by the author himself and the orchestra he had created.
