Every third Sunday of the month (December 15) entrance to the museum for residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan is FREE (except for foreign exhibitions)

Promotion: During the holidays, admission to the museum in the halls of permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions (except for foreign exhibitions) is FREE for CHILDREN.

As part of «Culture without Borders» promotion, which will take place from October 13 to December 31, 2024, citizens with special needs in groups I, II, and III will be able to visit the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan free of charge.

From December 6, 2024, to January 6, 2025, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is hosting a solo exhibition by Tilek Sultan titled «Sacred Kimeshek»

Tilek Sultan is a member of the Union of Craftsmen of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a recipient of the UNESCO international quality mark. He is an active participant in international and national competitions, an expert in embroidery, a researcher of Kazakh national clothing, a restorer, a promoter, a collector, and a renowned ethnodesigner. His interest in traditional Kazakh crafts began in his childhood when he learned the art from his grandmother. Today, through complex embroidery techniques, he has restored numerous national garments such as kimesheks, zharghak shapan, embroidered trousers, women's shapan, as well as men's and women's tubeteykas.

Tilek Sultan has spent many years researching the women's headpiece kimeshek, actively working on its embroidery, and has built an extensive ethnographic collection of national costumes, jewelry, and household items.

The exhibition presents antique kimesheks typical of the regions and tribes of Kazakhstan, as well as national headwear created by the artist himself.

Tilek Sultan's work is a magnificent blend of the past and present of Kazakh culture.
