THE CONCERT IS HELD IN KAZAKH LANGUAGE

The evening of vocal music dedicated to the work of the famous singer, akyn and composer Segiz-Seri will be presented by the Honoured Artist of Kazakhstan Zhannat Baktay and soloists of the Astana Opera House.

Segiz-Seri (1818-1854) is widely known for such remarkable songs as Gaukhartas, Nazkonyr, Saulem-ai, Gaini, Alkonyr, Akbakai, which have long become folk songs. He expanded the horizons of folk singing art, laying the foundations of Kazakh vocal art and becoming a spiritual mentor of Kazakh seris and sals.

The concert will feature songs by Segiz-Seri, folk songs and compositions by contemporary Kazakhstani composers.
