Participants of the Da Gudda jazz band were known in the rapper community because of participation and victories in "Battle for Respect", freestyle battles and online battles. Gathered together, they created an extraordinary and distinctive rap community.
Da Gudda jazz was doing battles rap before it became fashionable. In fact, thanks to online battles, the guys met and began to record music together. Initially, the band had six people, but by 2010 remained only Tyomcha and Tanir. Soon they were joined by Kraim Wizard and Raplick - that's where DGJ recorded their debut album. After that Raplick left the team.
The band stands out for its genre diversity: lyrics are next to hard tracks. When big stars from abroad came to Kazakhstan to tour, they often called Da Gudda jazz to warm up. The concert in Novosibirsk in 2011 was their first solo performance. Rappers still participate in online and offline battles.
The leaders of Tyomcha and Tanir won InDaBattle, one of the largest online battles, two years in a row.
The band's first royalty was $100 for a warm-up performance with one of the most famous rappers.
They are still invited to popular venues, where they compete with younger performers.
Tanir has been dating Kapi for a long time, but at the moment the couple has split up. The other band members have a much more private life.
