Qyz Zhibek

The highlight of our national opera is the musical drama «Qyz Zhibek», written by composer E. Brusilovsky on the basis of libretto by writer-playwright G. Musrepov, folk songs and cues, works of folk composers.

«Qyz Zhibek» - ethno-folklore musical will be staged in the Theatre of Young Musical Spectator of Astana Akimat.

The main goal of the creative team is that all the arias and choruses, cues and dances performed in the opera should be musical works of folk songs and folk composers, so the score, originally written for a symphony orchestra, was returned to its ruachnic roots and rods, rewritten to be performed by an ensemble of folk instruments, and the ethno-folk musical was given a spin.

«Qyz Zhibek» is an ancient spiritual heritage of our people. It is not a derivative legend, but a real event. A unique work characterising the traditions and customs, genius and national essence of our people, based on the faithful love of two lovers Tolegen and Qyz Zhibek.

«Qyz Zhibek» is a mirror of pride, holy spirit, honour of our people, whose history is deeply rooted.

Therefore, even at the present stage, without losing relevance, as a viable epic of love, taking place from generation to generation shows the viewer the deep roots of folklore and ethnography, philosophy and worldview, traditions and customs, rich musical heritage and lifestyle of the nation.
