The puppy

The play «The Puppy» is based on two of Leonid Andreev's short stories «The Angel» and «A Theft Pending».

When a little black puppy falls into the cruel hands of a man who killed and stole, washed in blood and hatred, the puppy's fate is obvious and predictable.

The play, like a quilt made of different voices of the past and present, gradually covers the spectator and takes him in its embrace: somewhere sharp, somewhere warm, but impossibly recognisable and uncompromising.

The story of a murderer and a puppy suddenly becomes an excuse to dive into the most distant recesses of the protagonist's memory and take the viewer there with him. And then together to look and touch the bitterest memories and images from childhood, to mourn together everything that still lives and hurts somewhere inside.

A man was about to steal, or maybe even kill. But he met a little black puppy and everything changed on his path....
