Caligula
Description
Based on the legacy of Roman Emperor Caligula, this theatrical production explores the timeless presence of the tyrant’s syndrome throughout human history. Drawing parallels with some of the most ruthless figures of the 20th century - including Hitler and Chikatilo - the performance reflects on how cruelty, despotism, and the thirst for absolute power can manifest in any era or society.
The story unfolds through the lens of a psychiatrist studying these extreme behavioural patterns, offering a psychological and historical inquiry into the minds of those who wield power without conscience.
This thought-provoking interpretation not only revisits ancient tyranny but also poses difficult questions about the human condition and the fragility of moral boundaries.
Please note: To avoid disturbing performers and fellow audience members, doors will be closed 15 minutes after the performance begins.
