Gennady Golovkin is a Kazakhstani boxer who has made the country famous for his grandiose achievements in sports.

Gennady Golovkin was born and grew up in the coal capital of Kazakhstan. He took up boxing at the insistence of his older brothers as a teenager and won the first victory when he was 11 years old. At first, the boy did not take boxing seriously: he was fond of other sports, but the successes he began to do in boxing themselves determined his choice.
An athlete's career can be divided into two stages:
The period in amateur boxing. During his time Gennady spent 350 fights, and in 345 of them, he won. On his account 6 gold and 2 silver medals won at the world championships, Asian and Olympic Games.
Professional boxing. His debut was in 2006. Since then, Golovkin has had 41 fights, of which 39 were victories. He won the champion belts WBA, WBC, IBF, IBO, The Ring (now former champion). Most of his fights he won ahead of schedule, 33 of them ended in a knockout by his rivals, for which he was included in the Guinness Book of Records.

Gennady Golovkin is married. With his wife Alina before marriage, they dated 7 years. The couple lives in Los Angeles, USA and raises 2 children.

Gennady has a twin brother, Maxim, who is also a boxer, but he left the ring for his brother, giving him the opportunity to participate in the 2004 Olympics.
