CLASSICAL MUSIC IS IN FASHION!

Soloist – Assel Abilseitova (piano, Switzerland)

On January 28 at 6.00 pm, a piano music concert with participation of the Kazakhstani pianist Assel Abilseitova will take place in the Chamber Hall of the Astana Opera House.

Today, the young talented pianist actively gives concerts, performing both solo and in chamber ensembles.

Having noticed Assel’s musical talent, her parents brought her to the teacher Irina Bossina. She made her debut at the age of 11 at the Young Pianists Competition in Karaganda, and then continued performing by giving a series of concerts and taking part in national and international competitions where she won her first awards. After five years, she first performed with the Symphony Orchestra in the Shalkyma concert hall, presenting to the public F.Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 (conducted by Peter Gribanov).

Assel continued her music education at the Tattimbet State College of Arts in Karaganda, graduating with honours in 2010. Then she entered the Royal Academy of Music in London and received the International Fellowship of the Bolashak Presidential Program.

Under the leadership of the British pianist Ian Fountain, Assel gains a great concert experience and performs in the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and France. She took lessons and master classes with such renowned musicians as John O'Connor, Pascal Devoyon, Yevgeny Sudbin, Simon Crawford-Phillips; she has worked with Jan Schmolck, Levon Chilingirian, Maxim Vengerov and others. In 2014, Assel completed her training at the London Academy and was awarded a Thomas Jennings prize for outstanding achievements.

In 2016, she received her Master of Arts degree from the Music Academy in Basel (Switzerland, class of Filippo Gamba). In the summer of the same year, she performed Rhapsody in Blue by G.Gershwin in the Main Hall of Stadtcasino accompanied by the Basel Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Lorenzo Viotti.

She is currently a soloist with the ProArt Agency and performs in concert halls of Europe and Kazakhstan. Since 2015, she has been President of the “Keruen” Kazakhstan-Swiss Association, which purpose is to popularize the Kazakh culture abroad.

The concert programme will include works by S.Rachmaninoff, L.Janáček and R.Schumann.
