Concert dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Gaziza Zhubanova

“I Flew Up From the Grass ...”

On 7 December 2017, “I Flew Up From the Grass ...” concert, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Gaziza Zhubanova, a prominent Kazakh composer, People’s Artist of the USSR and Kazakh SSR, laureate of the State Prizes of the USSR and Kazakh SSR, will take place in the Chamber Hall.

Gaziza Zhubanova’s creative work is multifaceted. She managed to realize her talent as a composer in various genres of music. She composed oratorios, cantatas, symphonies, symphonic poems, operas, ballets, concerts, choruses, art songs, songs, chamber and instrumental works, as well as music for plays and movies.

In addition to her fruitful creative work, Gaziza Akhmetovna was actively engaged in public and teaching activities. She brought up a whole galaxy of famous Kazakhstani composers. Gaziza Zhubanova’s multifaceted work brought the national Kazakh culture to the world level.

The evening will include not only Zhubanova’s works performed by well-known Kazakhstani musicians and ensembles, but also memories of the outstanding composer which will be shared by the followers of the renowned musical dynasty: pianists Nurlan Izmailov, Karina Izmailova and other musicians.
