“Under Our Common Shanyrak”

“Bir shanyrak astynda!Under our common shanyrak! concert, dedicated to the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, will take place on May 1 in the Main Hall of the Astana Opera House.

The concert will feature opera and ballet soloists, Choir and Orchestra of the Astana Opera.

The symphonic kyui Dairabai by Ye. Rakhmadiyev will open the programme. Along with the magnificent Choir, soloists Tatyana Vitsinskaya and Talgat Galeyev will perform in colorful scenes from the operas Abai and Birzhan – Sara. Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Zhanat Shybykbayev, Yevgeniy Chainikov, Ramzat Balakishiyev, Roza Nurkey and others will perform popular arias, duets and songs by the Kazakhstani composers.

Dances Shashu and Mereke-bi from the operas Kyz Zhibek by Ye. Brusilovsky and Birzhan – Sara by M. Tulebayev will put the audience in a festive mood. The fiery Indian Dance from the ballet La Bayadère by L. Minkus, Russian dance from Swan Lake by P. Tchaikovsky and Gopak by F. Nikolayevsky from the opera Taras Bulba go down permanently well with the public. These ballet pieces will be performed by leading soloists – Anel Rustemova and Bakhtiyar Adamzhan, soloists – Arman Urazov, Serik Nakyspekov, and ballet dancers – Nazira Zayetova, Askar Sarzhanov and Nikolay Korshunov.

The art of numerous ethnic groups, who have been living together for a long time under the common shanyrak on the hospitable Kazakh land, will present the Russian folk song Along the Piterskaya Street… (Bolat Yesimkhanov), Belarusian Kupalinka (Yelena Ganzha), bashkinsk Khandugas (Honoured Artist of Bashkortostan Alfiya Karimova), Kazakh Yerkem-ai (Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Bibigul Zhanuzak and Saltanat Muratbekova) as well as Varvara's ditties from R. Shchedrin's opera Not only love (Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Dina Khamzina), medley on themes from Kazakh songs performed by the Chamber Choir and other works.
