“Romantic Sounds of Autumn”

An evening of instrumental and vocal music

The “Romantic Sounds of Autumn” concert will take place on 4 October in the Astana Opera Chamber Hall.

The musical evening will feature Honoured Artist of Bashkortostan, winner of international competitions Rustem KHAMIDULLIN (cello) as well as the Astana Opera soloists – winners of international competitions Yeskender Abzhanov (baritone), Gulzhanat Sapakova (mezzo-soprano) and Rakhimzhan Baspayev (piano).

Rustem Khamidullin is the Honoured Artist of Bashkortostan, a winner of international, all-Russian and republican competitions, and a hereditary musician. Born in 1989 in Ufa. He studied at the Specialized Secondary Music School in Ufa, then at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music (teacher - Vladimir Tonkha). Scholarship holder of the New Names International Charity Programme and the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation. In 2008, he was admitted to the Basel Music Academy, class of Professor Ivan Monighetti. Currently, he is improving his skills at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts in Stuttgart, class of Professor Conradina Brotbeka. In 2014, he won the 2nd All-Russian Music Competition, the International Competition in Gisborne (New Zealand), as well as the second prize at the 52nd L. van Beethoven International Competition and Festival, which was held in the castle in Hradec nad Moravicí (Czech Republic). Trained at the Basel Symphony Orchestra. From January 2015, he undertook a training course with the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra. Rustem plays the instrument, made by violin maker Romeo Antoniazzi in the beginning of the past century.

The programme will include works by F. Schubert, R. Schumann and J. Brahms.
