The exposition of the department of nature begins with an acquaintance with the geomorphology and geographical location of the Mangistau region. In the hall of geology, colorful mini-dioramas, showcases, maps, diagrams tell about the geological picture, minerals, paleontology of Mangystau.

To display the fauna and flora of the Caspian Sea, a special hall has been set aside, which, in terms of the uniqueness and variety of exhibits, has no analogues in Kazakhstan. In the halls of nature, you can get rich information about the fauna, especially the avifauna of the region, about flora and other natural objects.
In addition, the museum's storerooms have a significant herbarium fund, characteristic of the Mangistau peninsula and the Ustyurt plateau. The funds of the museum also store paleontological collections transferred in the first years of searching for minerals in Mangystau, which give a geological picture of the past of our region.

In the hall of archeology, the history of the development of mankind in Mankystau is shown from the Paleolithic (ancient stone age) to the 14th -15th centuries, based on historical artifacts. The newly opened hall was replenished with new exhibits and historical facts, which are the results of scientific research and archaeological expeditions in recent years. These are the Eneolithic settlements Koskudyk 1 and Koskudyk 2, cult burial complexes - Ulkenkudyk, Sakakudyk, medieval history - the Altynkazgan complex, the Kyzylkala settlement and much more. The design and meaning of the hall fully meet the requirements of the modern world.
The expositions of the history hall reflect the life and main occupations of the region's population until the beginning of the 20th century. The original decorative and applied art of the Kazakhs of Mangistau, national handicrafts of artisans, a yurt with all its decoration and masterpieces of art by masters of bone, wood and stone carving are presented. The exposition shows part of the rich collection of national jewelry made of precious metals and stones, which is the pride of the museum.

The halls of modern history are dedicated to the most important historical events of the first half of the twentieth century, which directly affected our region. In these halls, a re-exhibition was held in 2008. The exposition, designed in the 90s of the twentieth century, did not reflect many classified materials at that time. Thanks to the acquisition of the independence of the republic, an opportunity was obtained to study many documents and design a new exposition. The re-exposition halls "History of Mangystau of the XX century" show the development of history, economy, social sphere of the region in that period: including the years of repressions, the Great Patriotic War, etc. are shown more deeply.

In the hall dedicated to the oil industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, full information is given about the first geological expeditions, about scientists geologists, honored oil and gas workers, about industrial oil and gas fields in Mangyshlak.
The hall dedicated to the work of the people's writer A. Kekilbaev, a native of Mangistau, tells about the life path, creative achievements and social and political activities of the people's writer, master of the word with world fame.

The formation of a new sovereign state, the events that took place in the Mangistau region during the years of independence of the republic, the prospects for the development of the region are reflected in the photographic materials of the hall "Modern Kazakhstan" opened in 2004.
