The Golden Age of Music

 

Renowned Kazakhstani musicians, soloists and artists of the Astana Opera House will present a concert from the series “The Golden Age of Music”. The concert programme includes works by Western European and Russian composers (A. Scarlatti, T. Vitali, T. Albinoni, A. Vivaldi, G. Handel, L. Boccherini, M. Glinka, P. Tchaikovsky, P. Mascagni, J. Halvorsen).

 

PERFORMED BY:

Talgat MUSSABAYEV (baritone) – Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan, Holder of the Order of Kurmet, leading soloist of the Astana Opera House. The soloist's repertoire includes all the leading parts in the operas Abai, Birzhan - Sara, Eugene Onegin, Aida,  La bohème, Madama Butterfly, Carmen and others.

Talgat Mussabayev has collaborated with such renowned conductors as K. Penderecki, R. Salavatov, F.Mansurov; directors as D. Livermore, G. del Monaco, E.Scola, Y.Alexandrov and many others. He has performed on many famous stages of the world: the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Carnegie Hall in New York, Kennedy Center in Washington, F. Liszt Academy in Budapest, Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Cairo Opera House, Salle Gaveau in Paris, the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Wiener Konzerthaus, the National Opera of Ukraine, the Grand Hall of UNESCO, etc.

 

Kalamkas ZHUMABAYEVA (violin) soloist and first violin of the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra. Laureate of the Prize of the Foundation of the First President of Elbasy for high achievements in the field of culture and art of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Winner of the Grand Prix and laureate of many prestigious international competitions. The solo repertoire includes works by Kazakh, Russian and Western European composers. She has collaborated with such renowned conductors as V. Gergiev, C. Dutoit, A. Leaper, K. Jenkins, A. Anisimov, J. Wildner, Ye. Bushkov, A. Allemandi and others.

 

Kurvanzhan AKHATOV (cello) – a graduate of the Kazakh National University of Arts. Laureate of international competitions in Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk. Already during his studies at the university, he became the concertmaster of the Eurasian Symphony Orchestra’s cello group and toured the countries of Europe and America. The musician's repertoire includes the first public performances of works for cello by K. Kuzhamyarov, B. Bayakhunov, B. Kydyrbek, S. Abdinurov and Kh. Setekov.

Since 2013, he has been an artist of the Astana Opera Orchestra, where he often performs solo parts in staged performances.

 

Azhar KADYROVA (cello) – a graduate of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Laureate of international competitions. For a long time, she worked as an artist of the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre Orchestra. Currently, she is an artist of the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra.

 

Dolores UMBETALIYEVA (piano) – a multiple winner of international competitions and festivals, including a diploma of the International Competition of Creative Youth “Shabyt”-2001, a diploma “Best accompanist of the 7th International Vocal Competition” (2014). Dolores Umbetaliyeva continues the series of concerts “The Golden Age of Music” dedicated to the works of romantic composers of the 19th century.

Arman URAZGALIYEV conductor of the Astana Opera House. His repertoire includes operas by G. Verdi, R. Wagner, G. Donizetti, V. Bellini, G. Puccini, M. Tulebayev, Y. Brusilovsky; ballets by P. Tchaikovsky, A. Adam, L. Minkus, S. Prokofiev, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, I. Stravinsky, H. Løvenskiold, G. Zhubanova, A. Serkebayev and others.

He is the conductor and music director of the ballets Notre Dame de Paris by M. Jarre, La Bayadère and Don Quixote by L. Minkus, Manon to the music by J. Massenet, Swan Lake by P. Tchaikovsky in a new version, Le Corsaire and Giselle by A. Adam, Coppélia by L. Delibes; one-act ballets as K. Zvereva’s Sounds of Time to the music by A. Raimkulova, M. Fokine Chopiniana to the music by F. Chopin and Scheherazade to the music by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov.
