Masterpieces of the Musical Art
The Astana Opera presents the grandiose concert “Masterpieces of the Musical Art”, featuring the stars of the world’s musical art Ilya Mashkevich (Belgium), the Astana Opera soloist, soprano Maria Mudryak, tenor, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Medet Chotabayev and the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra.
Ilya Mashkevich is a well-known conductor and composer. Born in Frunze (Bishkek). He graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory with a major in orchestra conducting (class of the renowned teacher, Professor I. A. Musin).
He began his conducting career with the Kyrgyz Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and the Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 1987, he created the Chamber Orchestra on the basis of the Kyrgyz Philharmonic.
In 1990, he left for Israel to continue his creative career, and then moved to Belgium, where he currently lives. As a guest conductor, he actively tours in Russia, Japan, France, Germany, etc. He gives master classes and writes music for theatre and cinema.
Maria Mudryak is a soloist of the State Opera and Ballet Theatre “Astana Opera”. A holder of the Bolashak State Presidential Scholarship, she graduated from the Verdi State Conservatory in Milan.
She has performed at the Italian opera houses, the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (Vilnius), the Royal Opera House Muscat (Oman), the Royal Opera of Wallonia (Liège, Belgium), etc. Among her numerous awards is the third prize of Plácido Domingo’s Operalia, The World Opera Competition (2017).
Medet Chotabayev graduated from the Renata Tibaldi and Mario Del Monaco Academy (Pesaro, Italy). Since 2013, he has been a leading opera soloist with the State Opera and Ballet Theatre “Astana Opera”.
He has won Grands Prix of the International Competitions in Finland, Romania, France and Kazakhstan; first prize and the “Best Tenor” special prize of the 23rd Glinka International Vocal Competition (Moscow, 2009). He is the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy (2018) and winner of the National Project “100 New Persons of Kazakhstan”.
