“CREATIVITY OF THE YOUNG”

On October 21, the “Creativity of the Young” concert featuring promising musicians and composers, who have already made themselves known, will take place in the Chamber Hall. Their names can be seen on posters in famous concert halls of Kazakhstan and abroad. Rakhat Bi Abdyssagin, Azat Malik, Nazym Sagintai and Kalkaman Duissenbayev will give the audience an evening to remember in the Chamber Hall of the Astana Opera House.

The concert will also feature Alexandr Taraskin (flute), Almaz Tokpanov (clarinet), Daniyar Yessimkhanov (piano), as well as Ukrainian musicians Dmitro Tavanets (piano) and Zoltan Almashi (cello).

Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin is a 17-year-old Kazakh composer, pianist and author of more than 100 pieces of music.

In 2016, Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin earned his Bachelor's degree with honours from the Kazakh National Kurmangazy Conservatory.

At the moment, he is a Master's degree student at the Kazakh National University of Arts.

Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin won the Grand Prix at the Astana-Merey International Competition in the composition category (2012) and at the International Festival of Creative Youth “Shabyt”, first prize of the 3rd Spendiyarov International Competition for Composers (Yalta, 2013), and the President's Cup (Astana, 2014).

His music is widely performed in many countries of Europe and Asia. Thus, his work for piano and orchestra Kazakh Rhapsody, for which he was awarded the Grand Prix of “Tauelsizdik Tolgauy 2014” and recognized as the “Best Composer of the Year”, and The Will to Live have been frequently performed at government concerts in Astana, London, Paris, Spain, Seoul, Istanbul, Ankara, and in the Main Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

The world premiere of The Will to Live took place in the Concert Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic on 20 March 2015 (Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin soloed), and the Violin Concerto Forward into the Sunlight, for which the composer received the Grand Prix of the International Festival of Creative Youth “Shabyt” and the Cup of the President of Respublic of Kazakhstsan (2014), has been performed in Almaty and Astana (solo - Yerzhan Kulibayev, Yerkebulan Saparbayev and Maksat Zhussupov). The world premiere of the symphonic piece God's Dwelling took place on 23 August 2016 in the Main Hall of the Konzerthaus in Berlin. Rakhat-Bi’s chamber music was performed in Graz (Austria), Kiev (Ukraine) and in Mürzzuschlag (Austria). On 15 February 2016, the world premiere of Painting in Sounds for flute, vibraphone and guitar, which was specially commissioned by guitarist Reinbert Evers for the KlangZeit Münster Festival – 2016, took place in Münster.

 

Azat Malik is a baritone, laureate of international competitions and graduate in vocal arts of  the Kazakh National University of Arts (class of Associate Professor Azamat Zheltyrguzov). Azat Malik has frequently performed on the stage of the Astana Opera Chamber Hall and delighted music lovers with his voice.

Nazym Sagintai is a soprano, gold medallist of the International Delphic Games in Volgograd (2014), laureate of the B. Tulegenova International Vocal Competition (Astana), the Zhubanov Koktemi-2015 (Aktobe), the International Festival of Creative Youth “Shabyt”, the Ye. Rakhmadiyev International Vocal Competition (Astana) and winner of the Grand Prix of the Third All-Russian Competition Orpheus (2016). She is currently in her third year at the Kazakh National University of Arts (class of Associate Professor, Madeniyet Kairatkeri Dina Kabykeyeva).

Kalkaman Duissenbayev is a talented horn player, winner of international competitions and graduate of the Kazakh National University of Arts (class of Yerlan Zhakenov). He is currently in his fifth year at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of Professor Vladimir Shish).
