THE MYSTERIES OF THE STEPPE AND THE MAGIC OF CLASSICAL MUSIC

On 27 November 2016, the Symphonic Music Concert, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Independence of Kazakhstan will be held in the Main Hall of the Astana Opera House. The concert will feature People's Artist of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prizes Jania Aubakirova (piano) and the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra.

Conductor – laureate of International Competitions Dorian Wilson (USA).

Jania AUBAKIROVA is a renowned Kazakhstani pianist. She gives recitals in Kazakhstan, France, England, Germany, Japan, Russia, Poland, Italy, the USA, Israel, Greece, and Hungary. She has performed in such prestigious concert halls as Salle Pleyel, Salle Gaveau, Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Vigoda Hall, Seoul’s Arts Center, Konzerthaus Berlin, the Kennedy Centre, Carnegie Hall, Main Halls of the Moscow Conservatory and St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the concert hall of the Mariinsky Theatre and the Moscow International House of Music.

She has been collaborating with many famous orchestras and musicians such as Martha Argerich, Valery Gergiev, Mikhail Pletnev, Alexander Sladkovsky, David Geringas, Alexander Vedernikov, Denis Shapovalov, Marat Bisengaliev, Alexander Trostiansky, Christophe Mangou, the Quatuor Danel, the Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Symphony Orchestra, the French Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of India and others.

Among Jania Aubakirova’s numerous awards are the State Prize of Peace and Progress of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation, the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Platinum Tarlan Independent Award. She is a Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters of France, holder of the II degree Orders of Catherine the Great “For strengthening friendship between Kazakhstan and Russia”, “For services to Polish Culture”, Gold Cross of Merit of the President of the Republic of Poland, and holder of the Award of European Union of Arts.

Dorian WILSON is a laureate of major International Conducting Competitions, including the N. Malko International Conducting Competition in Copenhagen, the Arturo Toscanini and Antonio Pedrotti Competition in Italy, the Kirill Kondrashin Competition in Amsterdam, the J. Sibelius Competition in Helsinki and the Dimitri Mitropoulos in Athens. He has performed with many famous European, American and Asian orchestras, such as the France National Orchestra, the Tokyo and Bern Symphony Orchestras, and Philharmonic Orchestras of Seoul, Helsinki, Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Dorian Wilson collaborated with such prominent musicians as M. Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma, T. Zehetmair, N. Imai, B. Douglas, B. Berezovsky, and S. Cherkassky. As an opera conductor, he headed the Vorpommern Opera, Staatsoper Berlin, Komische Oper, the Royal Swedish Opera and the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux.
